Friendly Greengrocers in the lovely town of Axminster
Not Just Veg is run by Amanda Hoden who is well known to shoppers in Axminster from her days at Macsorsons, the Halff Shop (now Project Food) and others. Her shop in South Street sells organic and local fruit and vegetables and much more including organic milk, cream and yoghurt, organic bread to order plus jams, jellies, marmalade, chutneys, local honey, eggs, and homemade soups.
“I started the shop in 2020 after being told I was being made redundant,” says Amanda. “As my mother was ill, I had to find something to do in Axminster. After a discussion with my family,the shop was set up in a month and started trading on 5th December.
“I am very proud of what I have achieved at a very difficult time, and am looking forward to the future and to the continuing support of my fantastic customers in the town. Many retailers have also been so helpful. I look forward to serving both existing and new customers.”

Elbow Farm - in Beer, Devon
"Elbow farm is a bit of a unusual name but it's quite distinctive so we've stuck with it. We spotted it on a really old tithe map showing the land where we are. The land is shaped a bit like an Elbow!
Since 2010 we have been growing vegetables and fruit, selling locally to restaurants cafes shops and veg boxes to retail customers.
Our produce is all naturally grown without artificial chemicals and fertilizers.
